BROOKLYN MUSEUM が約２年の年月をかけ開発したレザー〈ヤマト〉。

日本の四季の恩恵、そして職人たちによってじっくり時間をかけ育てられた和牛を使用していることが最大の特徴です。



「牧場から前鞣し、後鞣し、染色、そして仕上げまで、とにかく全工程において日本で行うことにこだわりたい」



そんな要望を叶えてくれたのは、東京で長年ヌメ革ベースのタンニン鞣しを専門としている〈カナメ〉。 キメ細かい肌目と薄く繊細な原皮を活かし、ハリのあるなめらかなレザーへと仕上げられます。


和牛の風合いを損なわぬよう、タンニン鞣しを施し、「本染め」と呼ばれる加工法によって染め上げられています。



原皮に染料を少し入れては天日干しをし、再度染料を少し入れては天日干しをする、という過程を何度も繰り返し、時間をかけて皮の芯まで染料を染みこませる製法で、手間を惜しまず丁寧に仕上げられています。



本染めだからこそ表現できる、澄んだ色と質感。

BROOKLYN MUSEUM のオーダーカラーを忠実に再現するため、仕上げのカラーリングを一枚一枚手染めで行う丁寧さ。

この仕上げにより、クリアな中に深みのあるエイジングが実現し、身につける年数とともに、色は徐々に深く、濃く変化するのです。


今ではほとんど行われていない「ツキ」を行うことも、ヤマトを語る重要な鍵となります。肌目を整えるため、ヘラで表面を滑らかにしていく── この作業を数回施すことで、より一層美しくエレガントな革へと仕上がります。



牛の飼育・原皮から革への加工・製品となる最後の行程まで全てが、 日本の卓越した職人たちによって手がけられた、『オール・メイドインジャパン』。

Generally, the coin purse of a bi-fold wallet is attached vertically to the right side when opened, but Brooklyn's coin purse is attached horizontally to the left side.
By doing this, you can take out coins in the same way you take out bills at checkout. Since there is no need to change the wallet itself, payment can be done smoothly, and even the gesture looks beautiful.
Visibility has also been improved by widening the gusset of the coin purse and making it possible to receive coins at the turnip flap. This is Brooklyn's original method, with a thorough focus on "comfort."

Partitions with total power in mind

By attaching the coin purse horizontally, there is a usable space underneath. In order to make effective use of it, three storage pockets are installed.
Originally, it was set up as a pocket for sorting receipts by country to reduce stress when traveling overseas, but its uses are not limited to that. When using it domestically on a daily basis, you can set it up to suit your convenience, such as storing personal receipts in the first one, work-related receipts in the second, and storing private cards such as driver's licenses and insurance cards in the third. Maximize the storage of your bifold wallet

Craftsman's pride

Layered leather parts. Those polished edges are due to the "cuts". This is an essential method for making Brooklyn leather items. Polish, add dye, and polish again... Repeat this process on all parts in the same way. Although it is a very time-consuming and inefficient method, the reason why Brooklyn continues to use it for all its parts is that it is a method that can withstand years of use.
No matter how much time it takes, we never make anything that will easily tear or break - Brooklyn's tops reflect the pride of our craftsmen.

Original leather lining

The interior uses soft leather originally developed by Brooklyn. As the name suggests, it has a soft texture that is extremely pleasant to the touch, so your bills and cards won't get caught.
In addition, every part, including the inside of the coin purse, is made by pasting two pieces of soft leather together. The reason is simple: ``We want people to use it for a long time.''
The edges of each part, such as the card tiers and partitions, are polished and sewn using a sewing machine to prevent them from tearing or peeling.
