HISTORY OF BROOKLYN

About the history of Brooklyn

Founded in Sendagaya, Tokyo

Established with the determination to "breathe an air of freedom into the Japanese fashion industry." The company name was taken from "Brooklyn", a place name in New York, with a strong desire to "bring America's pioneering spirit to Japan." Started as a company that produces original products for store brands and select shops.

CREW’S

A select shop that condenses typical traditional styles from the East Coast of the United States. We sell suits, blazers, BD Oxford shirts, etc. all under our original brand, and we also carry socks designed by our company. In particular, our argyle socks and turn cuff socks were so well-received for their quality that they sold out as soon as they arrived every Saturday.

SHIPS

In 1977, the first select shop "SHIPS" was opened in Ginza. Recognized by discerning adults who seek quality products, we started planning and producing original SHIPS products such as socks, leather accessories, belts, bags, and ties, because we wanted to develop fashion accessories made of good materials.

BEAMS

With the opening of BEAMS Harajuku street store, planning and production of International Gallery BEAMS, BEAMS F, and RAY BEAMS socks, belts, leather accessories, pocket squares, etc. began.

BAYCREWS Group

While opening stores one after another: Spick & Span Shimokitazawa store (1986), IENA Harajuku store (1991), and EDIFICE Shibuya store (1994), planning and production of original products such as socks and belts for three brands began.

BARNEYS NEW YORK

The buyer of BARNEYS NEW YORK, our first shop in Japan in Shinjuku, saw our products at International Beams, which led us to start planning and producing belts and leather accessories for men and women.

Brooks Brothers

The Aoyama main store, Japan's first flagship store, opened in 1979 as the first store to expand overseas. Along with much of American culture, Brooks Brothers was also very popular in Japan. We are very particular about quality and want to sell quality products that utilize unique Japanese technology, so we started planning and producing original products such as belts and socks.

Isetan Shinjuku store

First branch into a department store. At a time when black and brown were the mainstream for men's accessories, we started handling Italian leather accessories in beautiful color variations based on the concept of ``Enjoying your lifestyle through accessories.'' The especially impressive "Rock, Paper, Scissors" series money clips have become synonymous with BROOKLYN MUSEUM, a brand that makes fun leather accessories.

Matsuya Ginza

First transaction at a department store in the Ginza area. Started handling French calf series.

『BROOKLYN MUSEUM』

In the midst of an overflow of products, in order to explore what products are truly good for the people who use them, we opened a shop based on the concepts of "fun to use," "pleasant to wear," and "superior comfort" as a place where we can directly communicate the essence of products to customers.

LONDON 『Browns』

BROOKLYN MUSEUM's first foray into the world with the world-famous select shop "Browns." Started handling cordovan leather accessories.

BROOKLYN MUSEUM original schedule books are now on sale. We have been introducing overseas notebooks to the notebook covers that we have been handling for some time, but since overseas notebooks have short vertical time zones, no six days of the year, and many categories in the memo field (TELEPHONE/FAX/Email/MEMO/TODO), they are difficult to use.Due to the differences in work styles overseas and in Japan, we have set the vertical time zone to 24:00 and consolidated the detailed categories of the memo field into one column to increase free space. An original schedule book that users can use freely has been created.

LONDON 『Banford&SANS』

I have incorporated my desire to take on the challenge from Japan to the world into my work.

CASIO

Since the birth of the world's first "calculator with memory," CASIO has pursued calculators with unparalleled accuracy. Introducing the "S100", marking a new step in the history of CASIO's calculators. ``If the calculator is made in Japan, then we want to make a case that is also made in Japan.''
