Salvage is a word that means ``rescue or salvage a ship.''

Since its founding, Brooklyn Museum has created a variety of products.
Our products are carefully selected from high-quality leather, and the natural grain (wrinkles) is a sign of quality, and small scratches are also a sign that it was grown in nature.
However, in manufacturing, sometimes "outlet products" are unavoidable.

Items with slightly bent stitches and sample items at the development stage.
Some of the items include nostalgic products and one-of-a-kind dead stock and rare items that only longtime Brooklyn users can understand.
I can't sell it as a genuine product, but it's too durable to throw away.

While the world is working on environmental issues, we, as a company that does not develop or mass produce environmentally friendly leather,
When facing the ``responsibility of production and consumption'', instead of disposing of outlet products that inevitably occur,
We named it the "Salvage Project" and started it with the hope of creating a cycle of "rescue" for understanding users.

A realistic small crocodile embossed belt made from high-quality kip leather, born from the desire to create a playful belt.
The outer surface is made of kip leather that is a little over a year old and has a fine texture and certain strength, and the inner surface is made of tanned leather that has been raised with sandpaper. The surface is finished in a transparent aniline tone so that the deep embossed crocodile markings in vivid shades stand out.

The width of the belt is 35mm, which is neither too thin nor too thick, with the idea that it can be worn for both dressed-down and casual occasions. Many customers choose it as a gift.

“The invisible part. That’s why we don’t cut corners.”

The key point is whether you can use it for many years.
It's all about choosing the core material.

A core material used between leather.
All belt cores produced by Brooklyn Museum are made of tanned soft leather.
Generally, synthetic materials are often used as core materials, but by using a core material called shibu-doko, the strength is increased and it is difficult to wear out.
Paying close attention to the parts that cannot be seen from the outside is an essential point in order to ensure that the product can be used for a long time.

Another point is that it is made using a method called "feather".
One way to make a dress belt is to add volume to the center of the belt and create a three-layer structure. This technology adds smooth curves and a beautiful solid appearance.
It also improves the fit when the belt is tightened.

The front side is made of croco pattern leather, and the back side is made of tanned leather with sandpaper to raise the pile. Furthermore, when attaching the buckle, instead of using a sewing machine, the buckle is sewn firmly by hand in four places, making it so durable that it will not budge even if you pull the buckle.

Leather [croco pattern leather]

Kip leather (cowhide) that is a little over a year old and has a small crocodile embossed on it. In order to create a texture similar to that of a real crocodile, instead of simply pressing a mold from the front, a different mold is pressed on the front and back at the same time, resulting in more uneven shadows. Furthermore, by applying a semi-aniline finish (a method of mixing dyes and pigments) during dyeing, the color becomes transparent, and the uneven shading looks beautiful when light is reflected.
The contrast between rich colors and playful stitching colors is unique to the Brooklyn Museum. The stitching colors are carefully selected to bring out the natural color of the leather, which has been beautifully dyed by a tanner, and are the best match for the accent color of your outfit.
This series maintains the luxurious feel of crocodile while making the most of the ease of use that is typical of cowhide.

Until now, I have been using French calf brown. I bought a new one for a change.
Most of my suits are navy, so I like the stitching as a focal point.
I was hesitant to go for the French calf navy, but I liked the leather feel so I bought this one this time.
I've received compliments from people around me and I'm glad I bought it.
