This leather is made from kip leather (cowhide) over one year old, embossed with a small crocodile pattern. To achieve a texture close to real crocodile, instead of simply pressing a mold from the surface, separate molds are pressed simultaneously on both the front and back, creating more pronounced凹凸 and shadows. Furthermore, by applying a semi-aniline (a skillful blend of dyes and pigments) finish during dyeing, the color becomes transparent, and the light reflection beautifully reveals the nuances of the凸凹.
The rich coloring and the playful contrast of stitch colors are unique to Brooklyn Museum. The carefully selected stitch colors are designed to approach "the inherent color of the leather" that the tannery has beautifully dyed, making them a perfect accent color for your outfit.
This series maximizes the user-friendliness of cowhide while retaining the luxurious feel of crocodile.
