"Yamato" is an indispensable material for talking about the Brooklyn Museum.
It was announced in 2004 and has produced various products.
“Why were you particular about Wagyu?”
Here are the best materials we think.
Going back, 10 years ago.
Exhibiting a bag and leather accessory exhibition "Mipel" twice a year in Milan, Europe has become a major turning point for us.
The first Japan brand exhibited at the 82nd MIPEL.
It was a very honorable thing, and it was a heavy invitation.
"What is a leather accessories that express the uniqueness of Japan that can only be done in Japan?"
Until now, we have been using "Made in Japan", but I felt that we needed something more.
And as a result of thinking, we arrived at the existence of Japanese beef.
The current situation is that most of the "raw skin" for processing the product into "leather" is relying on imports.
“Can you manage all processes from the raw skin in Japan?”
As I thought so, I went to various places every day and searched for Japanese beef leather for Brooklyn.
What are the biggest features of Japanese beef?
It is in "skin eyes".
The key to creating that skin is the existence of the four seasons.
Although there are countries with four seasons besides Japan, it is unusual for countries that can feel such a clear climate change, and the expression of nature has a variety of richness.
The cows raised in such nature will open slowly from spring to summer and close from autumn to winter. Through this relaxed climate change, it becomes very beautiful skin with fine texture, elasticity.
Similarly, human skin is the reason why Japanese skin is fine and beautiful.
Another important thing is the existence of a "craftsman" that takes time and effort.
Dairy farmers work on their hands from morning till night to grow cows carefully.
Brushing the large body of the cow carefully one by one is a broken task, but it is an important task that not only does dirt and bacteria fall, but also improves blood flow and adjusts. These detailed cows are being considered, reducing the stress on cows, resulting in good quality leather.
I needed a technology to make the harsh skin, which took so much time, into a better leather.
"I want to stick to doing it in Japan in all processes, from the ranch to the front, tanning, dyeing, and finishing."
It was a tanner in Tokyo, which specializes in tannin tanning based on Nume leather for many years.
While having a meeting many times
"I want to make good things, but what is actually required in the market is something that resembles an import.
The hardest is that you have technology but not use it. "
There was a word.
"That's why I want to cooperate with people trying to make good things."
It was a word that we had made things from scratch.
In the wake of this conversation, we struggled with both sides and solidified the image.
Generally, Nume leather is a thick and hard image.
However, the leather we want to make is an "elegant" and "Brooklyn -like color development".
In order to reproduce the skin quality we want, we checked the process many times, adjusted the finishing temperature little by little, and tried and errored.
As a feature, when dyeing, we do "core".
This is a method of "dyeing the inside of the leather and dyed it". By dyeing to the core, even if the leather is deeply scratched, the base will not be visible.
And in order to perform the core, you must use carefully selected leather.
This is because it is necessary to select a durable leather because it has a longer time to put it in tie than normal dyeing.
The next important process is the work of preparing the leather skin called "Tsuki".
This work is used to use a spatula called herbane, handle it by hand, carefully adjust the texture one by one and uniformly.
Nowadays, the number of tanners doing this process is decreasing.
It takes so much time and effort and requires technology.
The skin eyes that can be expressed only because it penetrates manual work is elegant, beautiful, and supports the root of making things that are satisfactory.
After making this base, the finish is performed.
Until now, the groundwork is an essential process to fulfill our detailed requests that we want to leave a leather -like expression, even though it is a Brooklyn -like color.
This is because exquisite coloring is possible if this base is made well.
The characteristics of leather handled by Brooklyn also appear in the richness of the number of colors. We have colored any scenes and have such a color that makes people around you fun.
However, no color is fine,
-The color that enhances the person's impression by using it in the business scene
-Coles that each complement each other when you have various products
Only these are adopted as the "color of Brooklyn".
Here, I will introduce the process until the Yamato leather is completed.
1. "Tannin tanning"
This is a method of tanning using tannins contained in plants.
Currently, it is very difficult to purchase high -quality Wagyuji Boat, but we use Nume leather that can only be handled by this tanner that has established its own route.
2. "Dyeing"
Put the crust (leather before dyeing) in a tyco and dye it.
It takes twice as much as the normal dyeing to make it easier to pass through the fiber. It is an original recipe studied for the Yamato series, such as drum speed, water temperature adjustment, and amount of dye.
3. "Dehydration"
After tanned with tyco, the dyed leather is expanded with plenty of moisture, so remove excess water with a dedicated dehydrant.
Turn the handle of the machine, adjust the thickness of the leather, and stretch the wrinkles. Then dry the leather.
4. "Tsuki"
After draining, brush while determining each leather, and prepare the "one piece" leather skin with a dedicated tool called "Hagane".
At present, the number of places to use dedicated press machines has increased, but we are particular about the craftsmen's hands.
Depending on how long you spend, the beauty of the surface when commercialized will be different.
After this, dry it with sun drying.
5. "Oil adjustment"
After confirming the condition of the dry leather dye, use a dedicated compressor to make the oil carefully sprayed with the front and back to make a uniform color.
Since the color of the leather changes depending on the amount sprayed, the oil is adjusted firmly in the final process, assuming that the color is finished as desired. A slight adjustment of the oil amount to the individual difference of leather can also be based on the experience value that has confronted various leather.
6. "Iron"
After spraying the oil, the dry leather will be completed over a large iron.
Normally, the leather of Brooklyn is ironed two or three times to get the smoothness of the surface.
Brooklyn's "good thing".
it is,
“Things that enter the“ wisdom ”and“ hands ”of various people, and“ passion ”
So we think.
